Boil water order again for Mascoutah residents due to water main break

Mascoutah residents are under a boil order until further notice due to a water main break.

Police Chief Bruce Fleshren said the water supply line break located north of the city is being repaired. It's unknown how long repairs will take.

Residents are asked to conserve water and not to water lawns, wash cars or use water unnecessarily.

This is the second time this month residents of Mascoutah were under a boil water order. Earlier this month, a 10-inch water line leaving the pump station that feeds the city's water ruptured at the intersection of Railway and Poplar streets.

It took city crews four and a half hours to repair the break, which resulted in a boil water order in effect for 48 hours.
