Much-needed rain may be on the way

Relief may be on the way for parched metro-east farm fields and lawns.

A 20 percent chance of thunderstorms is predicted Monday afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service. The chance of precipitation will go up as the week moves along.

There is a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms on Tuesday, a 50 percent chance on Wednesday and a 60 percent chance on d on Thursday.

The high temperature Monday will be 87 degrees with an overnight low of 64. On Tuesday the high will be 90 and the low will drop to 67; and on Wednesday the high will be 89 with a low of 68.
