Cahokia home destroyed by blaze

Investigators are trying to determine what caused a fire that destroyed a Cahokia home early Wednesday.

Firefighters got a call at just after 1 a.m. to respond to the blaze in a two-story home in the 600 block of Rome Avenue. When they arrived they found flames shooting high into the air and the windows of the house blown out.

The home was vacant, according to fire department reports, and no one was injured.
