A free workshop will be held Wednesday in Collinsville to help local small business owners learn how Facebook can contribute to their success.
The Collinsville Chamber of Commerce will co-host the event, called Facebook's Collinsville Small Business Boost. It will feature a panel of four Southwestern Illinois small business owners who will discuss how they have optimized their presence on the world's largest social media network.
The small businesses on the panel are Maryville Boxing Club in Collinsville; bike and outdoor equipment store the Bike Surgeon in Shiloh; Castaways Consignment store in Washington, Ill. and healthy meal prep company Prep, Freeze, Cook, also in Washington, Ill.
U.S. Rep. John Shimkus, R-Collinsville, and U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Taylorville, will make remarks and speak with attendees.
The event will held in Ballroom C at the Gateway Convention Center. Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. The program will follow from 2-3:30 p.m.
