Think summer's over? Don't turn off that air conditioner yet

Dense fog could slow the commute for metro-east motorists Monday morning.

But the patchy fog should burn off by 9 a.m., when skies will become partly sunny and the temperature will start to rise on its way to a pleasant 85 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

But don't get used to the mild weather.

Thunderstorms could move in during the late afternoon and evening hours with a 30 percent chance of rain predicted after 4 p.m. The possibility of storms will last through the night when the low will drop to 70 and into Tuesday, when the high will shoot up to 93.

The 30 percent chance of thunderstorms remains Tuesday night, when the low will be 71.

There is a slight chance of thunderstorms and a high of 94 predicted for Wednesday. Temperatures could make it into the upper 90s by the weekend.
