$200,000 ticket: O'Fallon Lotto winner buys drinks for the bar

Matthew Burroughs bought a round of drinks for everyone at Shooters Bar and BBQ in O'Fallon after discovering he had just purchased a lottery ticket worth $200,000.

"I never expected to win this much," Burroughs, of O'Fallon, said when he presented his winning ticket to the Illinois Lottery Prize Center in Fairview Heights. "I once won $200 on a scratch ticket and I thought that was a pretty big prize."

Burroughs purchased a $5 Joker's Wild ticket out of the self-service machine at the restaurant in downtown O'Fallon. Friends around him erupted in cheers after he scratched his ticket to reveal the lottery's top prize.

"Then I bought a round of drinks for everyone in the bar to celebrate," Burroughs said.

Shooters, located at 113 E. First St., will receive a $2,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
