No less than Food & Wine magazine — with stories about the limited edition Veuve Clicquot x Charlotte Olympia Holiday Gift Box — has declared St. Louis food as “seriously good right now.”
The magazine took a dig at the city’s beloved provel cheese, but says restaurants in the city have “leapt rather decisively into the now.”
The five suggestions from the magazine’s article, titled “The Food in St. Louis is Sersiouly Good Right Now” are part of “a wave of innovation” in St. Louis, it says.
▪ Vicia, 4260 Forest Park Ave. Offers a tasting menu of 6 to 7 courses for $85.
Never miss a local story.
▪ Grace Meat + Three, 4270 Manchester Ave. Counter service with meat and three sides of “inventively-plated dishes,” the magazine says.
▪ Nixtra, 1621 Tower Grove Ave. “Pushed the boundaries” with dishes like a grilled, crispy octopus.
▪ Sardella, 7734 Forsythe Blvd. Offers “cheery, accessible lunch and dinner” by a James Beard Award winner.
