Tuesday is expected to be a picture perfect day in the metro-east, but strong storms could arrive later in the week.
The high will be 71 under sunny skies Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. Overnight it will be mostly clear with a low of 44.
It will be 74 Wednesday with a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Winds will gust up to 24 mph. The chance of storms will continue overnight when the low will be 58.
Storms are likely Thursday, with a 70 percent chance during the daytime hours when the high will be 72 and winds will gust up to 28 mph.
There is a possibility storms could be severe with damaging winds and hail.
The chance of storms remains at 70 percent overnight Thursday, when the low will be 50.
Showers are also likely on Friday when the high will be 56. Up to 1 1/2 inches of rain are expected through the end of the week.
