Showers and thunderstorms are expected to hit the metro-east Thursday.
Spotty showers could make things wet during the morning hours. But things are expected to get rough around 1 p.m. when thunderstorms are expected to arrive, producing strong winds, downpours and, potentially large hail and even a chance for tornadoes.
The high is expected to reach 73 degrees.
Thursday night, there is an 80 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms with a low of 54.
A couple more waves of showers and thunderstorms could roll through the area on Friday. But those storms aren’t expected to be severe.
Temperatures will be much cooler Friday with a high of 58.
Up to 1 1/2 inches of precipitation is expected before the rain stops falling.
Friday night, the low will be 34 with decreasing clouds.
The area will start to dry out this weekend with sunny skies and a high of 60 Saturday and mostly sunny skies and a high of 64 on Easter Sunday.
