The Illinois Department of Transportation wants to know why you stop at rest areas as part of their to evaluate traveler needs.
IDOT has a 20-question online survey at http://www.idot.illinois.gov/. The survey is also available on paper by calling 402-399-1405.
The department hopes to find out what travelers use the rest stops for and if visitors feel safe and secure.
“Many of our rest areas have reached a point where it’s time to evaluate their future,” said Illinois Transportation Secretary Randy Blankenhorn in a news release.
The online survey is available through Oct. 29
IDOT’s 30 rest areas and 11 welcome centers serve more than 36 million visitors a year, the department says.
