Teenagers under the age of 17 in Joliet are going to have to find a new place to shop.
The Louis Joliet Mall starts a new “youth supervision” policy Friday, according to ABC 7 Chicago. Any person 17 or younger must be accompanied by an adult, age 21 or older, from 5 p.m. to closing on Fridays and Saturdays. One adult can supervise up to six children.
St. Clair Square mall in Fairview Heights prohibits “attendance by any minor during school hours when unaccompanied by a parent, teacher or legal guardian” but does not require supervision of any age.
Officials with the Joliet mall have said they hope going to the mall will “continue offering a pleasant, family-friendly shopping experience.”
