The Interstate 64 resurfacing project scheduled to have started Monday has been delayed until Sept. 8.
Crews will resurface the highway from Illinois 157 to Green Mount Road, and the $7.5 million project is expected to be finished by the end of November.
A 2-inch layer of asphalt will placed on I-64 from Illinois 157 to Illinois 159 and thin layer of material will be put on the highway from Illinois 159 to Green Mount Road.
During peak rush hour times, all three lanes of the highway will be open in the morning for westbound lanes and in the evening for eastbound commuters. The work initially had been scheduled to begin earlier in August.
