Skies will be partly sunny and the high temperature will reach 55 Friday in the metro-east.
But a cold front is likely to bring showers Friday night and much cooler temperatures for the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
The low Friday night will be 40 and that’s likely to be the near the highest temperature we’ll see all weekend.
On Saturday there is a 50 percent chance of rain before noon. The high will reach 41 in the morning but it will drop throughout the day.

Skies will clear gradually in the afternoon and evening hours and the temperature will drop to 22 while wind gusts of up to 32 mph will make things seem much cooler.
That’s two degrees colder than the record low for the date in the St. Louis area, 24, set in 1988.
Skies will be sunny Sunday with a high of 40.
Sunday night the low will be 28 and skies will be mostly clear.
