As the Mississippi River nears its near-record level crest following weekend heavy rains and days of rising waters, temperatures will cool.
Wednesday’s high will be 37 under cloudy skies, according to the National Weather Service. Wednesday night the low will dip to 26.
Clouds will dissipate New Year’s Eve and the high will be 35. The low will be 24 under clear skies.
New Year’s Day will be clear and cold, with a high of 32.
A slight weekend warmup is on tap, beginning with clear skies and a high of 40 on Saturday.
