A grand opening for Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is ongoing Tuesday at the restaurant’s first metro-east location.
The Kansas-based chain’s newest location at 3320 Green Mount Crossing Drive in Shiloh features an appearance by the company’s 91-year-old co-founder and World War II veteran Freddy Simon.
The 3,170-square-foot building once housed a Johnny Rockets restaurant. Now, following a total renovation that began in March, it seats 100 guests inside and also has outdoor seating available.
The franchise was founded in 2002 in Wichita, Kan. There are 202 locations across the country. The Shiloh site is the first in the metro-east and the third in the St. Louis area. There are locations in St. Peters and Cottleville, Mo.
Never miss a local story.
The restaurant is open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
