Showers and thunderstorms rolled through the metro-east Wednesday morning and into the afternoon.
If the rain stops, the forecast called for a high temperature of around 90, according to the National Weather Service.
A hazardous weather outlook was issued for portions of west central and southwest Illinois as well as eastern and central Missouri early Wednesday morning. The National Weather Service predicted severe thunderstorms for Wednesday afternoon with damaging winds.
Wednesday night will be partly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms with a low in the upper 70s.
The rest of this week is set to remain hot and humid with a chance of thunderstorms in the metro-east.
