No one was seriously hurt when a MetroBus crashed into a passenger car Friday morning in downtown Belleville.
The minor collision caused light damage to the left front of a blue Chevrolet that collided with the bus. An ambulance was on scene and, according to a witness, at least one person was attended to by paramedics.
The crash happened at the intersection of West A and North First streets. It’s been the frequent site of accidents over the years as drivers often don’t realize West A is a one-way street and they attempt to make a left turn onto North First from the right lane, cutting off vehicles in the left lane.
Several police officers and a fire truck blocked traffic at the intersection for about a half hour. The passengers were loaded onto another bus to continue their journey.
