A lovely cottage home has the Yard of the Month for August. It belongs to Kathy and Harry Buchanan of 1713 Cypress St. in Highland.
There are many blooming hostas around the trees in the front yard and around a bird bath. There is another interesting bird bath, which is potted with begonias.
The curved sidewalk is lined with astilbe, creeping vinca, butterfly bush, a Japanese rose and some black-eyed Susan.
A drive through the alley will show you other kinds of plants such as hydrangea, cone flowers, knock out roses as well as other varities of roses and blooming plants.
Never miss a local story.
