‘Balloons Over Marine’ to be the topic at next at Marine Historical Society meeting
On Sept. 14 at 7 p.m., the Marine Historical Society to talk about the upcoming hot-air balloon event, which is scheduled for Sept. 25 and 26 in Marine.
Bill Weder, owner of Marine Coin Co., and RayLynn Meyer will be the guest speakers, telling about what they have planned for this balloon event. This is something new to Marine. Come and learn what it is all about.
Dawn Dykes is planning to show some pictures she has taken of the Vogelbacker Bakery, also.

The meeting will be held at Marine Senior Citizen’s Building located at 101 W. Silver St. in Marine. Society programs and meetings are open to the public to come and hear about past, present, and future of the Marine area.
The regular meeting of the society will follow the presentations. Some things that need discussing is what the society plans to do at the upcoming balloon event. Also on the agenda are the Veterans Memorial project, walking tour of Marine project, and tour ideas.
Membership in the Marine Historical Society is $5 per person or $10 per family and due July t of each year. Those wishing to remain members should pay their dues ASAP. To learn more about the society, check out the website at www.marinehistoricalsociety.org. For more information, call 644-3821.

The pre-K Sunday school class is looking for donations of glue sticks, construction paper and CRAYOLA (only) brand washable markers. Please bring to church and put on the round table in Heritage Hall by Sept. 1.
Don’t forget about the sign-up sheet for mowing grass located on the Heritage Hall Bulletin Board. Remember, the church has the mower to be used.
