Highland American Legion Post 439 will begin its 52nd year of sponsoring Legion baseball with player registration and a parent meeting on Dec. 6 at the post home, located at 1130 New Trenton Road.
Players who are interested in participating in the 2015 baseball program can register between the hours of 2 to 4 p.m. There will be a parent and interested prospective manager and coaches meeting at 4 p.m. immediately after the registration. Players are not required to attend the meeting.
The Senior Legion baseball team is for players born on or after Jan. 1, 1997. The Senior team will play 35 games, including a District 22 League schedule, participate in the Trenton Gator Classic tournament, as well as additional tournaments and exhibition games. They will also compete in the American Legion National Tournament which ends with the World Series in Shelby, N.C.
The Junior Legion No. 1 baseball team is for players born on or after Jan. 1, 1999. The Junior team will also play 35 games, including a District 22 League schedule, participate in the Breese Junior Legion Tournament as well as additional tournaments and exhibition games. They will also enter the American Legion National Tournament which ends with a state championship.

The Junior Legion No. 2 baseball team is for players born on or after Jan. 1, 2000. This program is one year old and is designed to be the beginning of a four-year career in the Post 439 player development program.
The Senior and Junior programs are putting together a group of coaches to assist in player development for the baseball program and the players collegiate and or professional career.
