The world’s longest-running musical, The Fantasticks is a funny and romantic show about a boy, a girl, two fathers, and a wall. The narrator, El Gallo, asks the audience to use their imagination and follow him into a world of moonlight and magic. The boy and the girl fall in love, grow apart, and finally find their way back to each other after realizing the truth in El Gallo’s words that “without a hurt, the heart is hollow.” Between the dynamic musical numbers, elaborate costumes, and the unique set, the cast and crew have prepared a delightful performance for all to enjoy.
The Factory Theatre is located in the Kelsey Building on Harris Avenue in Greenville. The Fantasticks will hit the stage on Friday, Feb. 5 and will continue Feb. 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14. The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and matinees will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sundays.
