Elizabeth Adele “Beth” Hammond, 81, of Denver, Colo., formerly of Highland, died on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17 at Calvary Cemetery in Centralia, with Father Dale Maxfield, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church in Centralia, officiating. Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia is in charge of arrangements.
She was born on Dec.15, 1933 in Carlyle to Walter and Marie Gilmor. She married Gerald E. Hammond on Sept. 3, 1955, and they lived in Highland, where they raised their six children. They divorced in 1976, and she did not remarry.
Mrs. Hammond was an active member of the Catholic Church. She moved to Denver in 2007 to live near her daughter, Stephanie. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Mark Hammond of Plano, Texas, Gerald (Carol) Hammond Jr. of Mission Viejo, Calif., Gregory Hammond of Memphis, Tenn., Stephanie (Brice) Buches of Lakewood, Colo., Christopher (Rima) Hammond of Tarrytown, N.Y., and Natalie (Mark) LaRue of Olathe, Kan.; 14 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Mary Hanna of Lafayette, Ind.; and a brother, Steven Gilmor of Glen Carbon.
She was preceded in death by her parents and former husband.
