Emma B. Dasenbrock, 88, of Pocahontas died on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015 at her home.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Jamestown. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation on Thursday at the church, with Pastor Don W. Propeck officiating. Burial will be in Jamestown Cemetery.
She was born on Feb. 20, 1927 in East St Louis to Rufus E. and Barbara A. (Kunkel) Musgrave. On Nov. 13, 1946, she married Thomas R. Dasenbrock. He passed away on May 3, 2012.
Mrs. Dasenbrock grew up in Caseyville. After school, she worked for several different places. She worked at General America Insurance Co. for 10 to 15 years. She worked as a clerk for U.S. Postal Service in East St. Louis and St. Louis for 24 years before retiring in the mid-1990s.
She moved to Jamestown in 1972. She and her husband were married for more than 65 years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and bunco. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ and the Postal Clerk Union.
Survivors include sons, Thomas M. (significant other Dianne Corrigan) Dasenbrock of Cypress, Texas, Harold J. (Terry) Dasenbrock of O’Fallon, Robert R. (Sandra) Dasenbrock of Greenville, Timothy J. Dasenbrock of Jamestown and Carl J. (Bonnie) Dasenbrock of Auburn, Ga.; a daughter, Marjorie A. (Steve) Rokita of Lampe, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Tech. Sgt. John H. Dasenbrock, who died on July 12, 1984, while with the U.S. Army; and daughters-in-law, Rose Marie Dasenbrock (nee Hannah), who died on July 3, 1998, and Shirley A. Dasenbrock (nee Odle), who died on June 15, 1996.
