Mary E. Reinacher, 68, of Troy died on Monday, Feb. 15, 2016 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17 and from 8 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18 at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland. A funeral service will follow the visitation Thursday at the funeral home, with Father Pat G. Jakel, pastor of St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland, officiating. Burial will be in Highland City Cemetery.
She was born on March 22, 1947 in East St. Louis to Thomas and Lela (Miller) Randant. On Sept. 4, 1971, she married Allen F. Reinacher, who survives in Troy.
For most of her youth, Mrs. Reinacher lived in Collinsville, and she graduated from Collinsville High School in 1965. She attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and worked at the library on campus. She was the secretary for transportation at Triad High School from 1998 to 2013. She spent many hours taking care of her grandchildren. She loved to read and was always sewing and quilting. She collected recipes and depression glass.
Other survivors include daughters, Karen E. Reinacher (significant other Terry Holeman) of Troy and Ann M. Long (fiancé Nick Rockwell) of Troy; grandchildren, Lela M. Long, Hunter A.R. Long, Lainey N. Rockwell, Hadley E. Rockwell and Shannon E. Holeman, all of Troy; a sister, Martha (Steve) Springer of Fairview Heights; brothers, John (Joanne) Randant of Lindenhurst, Ill., and Jim (Darla) Randant of Collinsville; a sister-in-law, Sue Randant of St. Louis, Mo.; and a former son-in-law, Kevin R. Long of Troy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, William “Moose” Randant, who died on June 6, 2012.
