Tim Upchurch, 375th Comptroller Squadron financial systems analyst, is this week’s “Showcase on ICE.” Upchurch maintains equipment for processing 21,000 pay-affecting transactions and financial programs for the accounting of $6.5 billion. His superb efforts resulted in minimal downtime. In this regard, Upchurch resolves more than 300 computer related issues per month. His responsiveness is exceptional and boosts squadron productivity to levels that would be unattainable without his assistance. During the 2016 fiscal year closeout, the wing executed $43 million (33 percent) of its budget in one month and funded 100 percent of unfunded requirements with Upchurch’s support. In addition, Upchurch is the point person at Scott for all DEAMS issues. He coordinated with the DEAMS Program Office and local subject matter expert to resolve an Air Force-wide digital signature issue. The corrective actions applied supported 9,000 users. As a retired Air Force veteran, Upchurch also serves as a mentor for Airmen. His advice and grounded approach accelerates both the personal and professional development of personnel and boosts morale. Photo by Airman 1st Class Daniel Garcia
