Two brothers face heroin charges after they were found passed out in a car on a Dairy Queen parking lot.
Thomas C. Wangelin, 31, of 1808 N. 16th St., Swansea, was charged Thursday with unlawful possession of a controlled substance containing less than 15 grams of a substance containing heroin.
Police still are looking for Thomas Wangelin. His bail was set at $40,000.
His brother, Adam T. Wangelin, 24, of 4 Tanewood Court, Belleville, also was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance containing less than 15 grams of heroin. Adam Wangelin was being held in lieu of a $30,000 bail.
Caseyville Interim Police Chief Scott Miller said police were dispatched on Wednesday to the Dairy Queen at 2411 Old Country Inn Drive in reference to two males passed out in a car, possibly drug-related.
When medical personnel arrived, one of the two men still had a needle in his arm, Miller said.
Both men were taken to Memorial Hospital to be checked out, Miller said, and were released before officials decided to charge the two men.
When they went to their homes to take them into custody, only Adam Wangelin was present.
Caseyville Police Officer Nick Arnold said drugs were found in the suspects' vehicle.
