Belleville man pleads guilty to child porn charges

A Belleville man has pled guilty to possessing child pornography and drug-related charges, according to U.S. Attorney Stephen Wigginton.

Daris A. Quinn, known as "DQ", pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court to possessing visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, using a communication facility to facilitate a drug transaction and making a false statement to a U.S. Postal Inspector.

Quinn, 26, is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 19. The child porn charge carries a prison sentence of up to 10 years, the drug-related charge up to 4 years imprisonment, and lying to a Post Inspector is punishable by up to 5 years in prison.

The pornography was found on Quinn’s phone Oct. 19, 2011, during a search of his residence. A forensic examination of the phone revealed videos made by Quinn depicting a sex act involving himself and a minor in his car and inside the minor’s home.

The phone also contained text messages sent by Quinn between Aug. 19 and Oct. 10, 2011, to facilitate the distribution of controlled substances between himself and an individual located in Oakland, California.
