Belleville police search for pair of convenience store robbers

A pair of men robbed a Belleville convenience store early Sunday.

According to Belleville Police Det. Sgt. Mark Heffernan, the suspects walked into the Circle K store at 3801 N. Belt West about 5 a.m. with bandanas over their faces and threatened the clerk with violence if they weren't given money.

Both of the suspects were black males who are about 5-foot-10. One man had a thin build and the other was heavier. The suspects fled the store on foot and headed west.

Heffernan said the Belleville Police Department's search dog was used to hunt for the men, but they were not located.

The clerk was not hurt. Heffernan said no weapon was displayed during the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Belleville Police Department at 234-1212.
