Registered sex offender arrested after entering school

South Roxana Police arrested a registered sex offender after she walked into a metro-east grade school.

Nicole Hobbs, 23, was arrested after entering the South Roxana Grade School on Wednesday during a school lunch program. She was later found at her home in the 100 block of Ohio Avenue and arrested on a charge of sex offender registration violation.

Hobbs was convicted in the 2008 for unlawful restraint of two children. She had been released and was living in South Roxana for the past two months. One of the victims of the 2008 case was present at the school when Hobbs entered.

Hobbs was being held in the Madison County Jail on Friday. Her bail has been set at $100,000.
