Police have arrested one of two people they say carjacked a woman at gunpoint earlier this week.
According to police, two black males approached her at about 6:15 a.m. Saturday on Illinois Street. One of them displayed a gun and demanded her keys, money and cell phone, according to the report. He then took her car and stopped to pick up the second suspect, then fled the area.
The woman was not injured in the robbery.
Johnny M. Glover, 20, of Madison, has been charged with the attack. He faces one count of armed robbery, a Class X felony; one count of aggravated vehicular hijacking, a Class X felony; and one motor vehicles offense, a Class 2 felony.
Glover is currently in custody at the St. Louis City Justice Center on unrelated charges. His bail in Madison County was set at $250,000.
Police are asking for help in identifying the second person, whom they said was armed and dangerous. Collinsville Police provided a surveillance-camera image of the person they believe to be the second carjacker.
Anyone with information as to the identity of the second person is asked to call Detective Mark Kuechle of the Collinsville Police Department at 344-2131, ext. 5138, or St. Louis Crimestoppers at 866-371-8477.
