Red Bud man faces felony charge for striking child at Belleville store

A 36-year-old Red Bud man faces a felony charge after striking a male minor while at a Belleville store.

Marcus R. Dwyer was charged on Thursday with aggravated battery of a child in a public place, a Class 3 felony, by the St. Clair County State's Attorney's Office.

Dwyer allegedly struck a 13-year-old male minor in the head with his hands while at Walmart located on Green Mount Commons Drive in Belleville.

If convicted, Dwyer faces two to five years in prison.
