A Madison County woman has been charged with attempted murder for allegedly hitting a neighbor with her sports-utility vehicle after an argument, leaving her with multiple injuries.
According to police reports, Ashley Ellison, 20, of Alton, was being held Thursday in the Madison County Jail on $500,000 bail and is charged with four felonies, including attempted first-degree murder.
Police say witnesses reported that Ellison was loudly arguing with Catelyn Scoggins, a 25-year-old mother of three, at about 9 p.m. Monday when things turned violent.
Ellison jumped into a sports-utility vehicle and accelerated toward Scoggins, according to police.
