A Cahokia man is headed to prison for 26 years after he was sentenced in St. Clair County court Wednesday for the murder of another Cahokia man.
The statement from State’s Attorney Brendan Kelly’s office said Darran C. Perkins, who is now 20, was sentenced in connection with the Feb. 8, 2014 shooting death of Sharmon Johnson. Court documents stated Perkins shot Johnson several times in the back and neck. Perkins was 18 at the time of the murder.
Perkins fled after the murder but was arrested on Feb. 10, 2014 in Springfield.
