Collinsville police have charged a man they believe intentionally struck a security guard with his car in the parking lot of the Wild Country club.
Police said witness statements revealed that Joshua S. Jennings, 22, of Waterloo was involved in a verbal altercation before getting into his car on the night of March 29. Witnesses told police he intentionally struck multiple individuals with his vehicle before leaving the parking lot.
Police said the security guard who was struck by the car suffered a broken leg as a result.
Jennings was charged with aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony; and failure to report an accident involving injury, a Class 2 felony. He remains in custody at the Madison County Jail. Madison County Circuit Judge Richard Tognarelli set bail at $100,000.
According to police reports, the guard argued with Jennings, who police said got into his car and drove into a crowd of people in front of the nightclub at 17 Gateway Drive.
