Ten taverns and businesses in the metro-east were cited for selling alcohol to minors, according to the Illinois Liquor Control Commission’s latest report released Wednesday.
The locations in Cahokia, Dupo and Edwardsville were cited for selling alcohol to underage participants who volunteer to participate in ILCC compliance checks along with state and local law enforcement. The volunteers come from local high schools and colleges.
The Cahokia locations cited were The Hangar Restaurant & Sports Bar at 6208 Archview Drive and Sandy Ridge Again Inc. at 2130 Sandy Ridge Rd.
The Dupo locations cited were KNJ Gas Mart at 308 N. Main St., the American Legion at 200 S. Fifth St., the Hideout at 540 McBride Ave. and Good Tymes Saloon at 200 N. Main St.
The Edwardsville locations cited were the Circle K at 629 W. Schwarz St., Oriental Spoon at 229 Harvard Drive, Cleveland Heath at 106 N. Main St. and Robust Wine Bar at 126 N. Main St.
Overall, the Commission conducted the compliance checks at 345 businesses statewide in March, citing 44 of them for liquor control violations.
