The St. Clair County Health Department will host its first H1N1 vaccination Thursday.

Patients who meet the requirements for the H1N1, commonly called swine flu, nasal spray flu vaccine will be able to get vaccinated for no cost from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the St. Clair County Health Department, 19 Public Square, Suite 150, in Belleville.

Because of limited vaccine supply, patients must be in one of these targeted groups:

* Ages 2 years through 24 years

* Anyone who lives with or cares for infants younger than 6 months

* Health care and EMS personnel

Patients must be:

* Not pregnant

*A caregiver, healthcare or EMS personnel younger than 49 years

* Healthy with no chronic health conditions (such asthma or diabetes)

In addition, the Madison County Health Department has plenty of H1N1 nasal spray flu vaccine available at clinics from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesdays and Thursdays at 101 East Edwardsville Road Wood River.
