EAST ST. LOUIS -- Police are investigating a shooting that left a man wounded Tuesday night.
The victim, whose name was not released, was shot once. He was in an undisclosed hospital Wednesday with non life-threatening injuries.
The unknown shooter fired at the victim from a vehicle at 9:03 p.m., Detective Michael Floore said.
"The shots were fired in front of the building where the victim was," Floore said.
After investigating, police determined the shooting occurred at 15th Street and Broadway. They located the victim at the hospital, and were initially given the wrong crime scene address. Floore said the victim and his friend told police conflicting stories.
As of Wednesday, police had not identified any suspects in the shooting and had not recovered a weapon or established a motive.
