Threlkeld building new Shiloh office

State Farm Insurance agent Dave Threlkeld anticipates that a new 11,200-square-foot office building that he is building in Shiloh for his new offices and to lease space to other businesses should open by the holidays.

The building under construction at 1095 N. Green Mount Road, located just south of the intersection at Frank Scott Parkway, will have space for six more tenants besides Threlkeld. He said he has been talking to some interested parties but would not disclose them just yet.

Threlkeld sold his previous office that was located on the southeast corner of Illinois 159 and Illinois 161 two years ago to the Bank of Springfield, which has since built and opened a new bank there earlier this year. Threlkeld has been conducting business at 2659 N. Illinois St. in the Swansea Schnucks Plaza since then.

Commercial broker Cathy Hamilton of the BarberMurphy Group in Swansea has reported there are three new tenants at the Park at Plum Creek in Edwardsville. A men's and women's boutique called What to Wear opened earlier this month at the shopping center at 921 S. Arbor Vitae. A counseling, massage therapy and wellness clinic called Breathe will open there next month and Degree Wood Fired Pizza, a wood-fired oven pizzeria, is expected to open in late November. ...

Kurt's CarStar Collision Center in Maryville has recently added its auto body services to Preferred Auto Body at 5606 N. Illinois St. in Fairview Heights. Kurt's CarStar now provides auto body repair while the existing business provides mechanical service. Also, J&M Glass Co. in Wood River provides window and glass repair there and Fast Lane Towing in Collinsville is available for towing jobs. Each operate as independent businesses under one roof. You can now find "green" cleaning products at your local Schnucks store. The St. Louis-based grocer has added Better Life floor, window and all-purpose cleaner in 85 of its 106 stores, including all of its metro-east locations. St. Charles, Mo., natives and life-long friends Tim Parklage and Kevin Tibbs, who is a formulation chemist, started the company in June 2008. They say the power behind their products comes from plants and vegetation. Their cleaners are biodegradable and are free of petrochemicals. Schnucks has grocery stores in Belleville, Swansea, Fairview Heights, East St. Louis, Cahokia, Collinsville, Edwardsville and Granite City. ...

A new Dippin' Dots ice cream store has opened in Edwardsville. It's the first franchise store in the metro-east aside from a Dippin' Dots kiosk at St. Clair Square. Owners Matt and Kelly Verbeck have opened their ice cream shop at 215 Harvard Drive in Edwardsville Crossing. You can call the new store at 659-0100. ...

Speaking of ice cream, Tom and Dede Cordie will close their White Cottage ice cream stand and eatery for the season Oct. 4. Tom Cordie said they plan to reopen for next season sometime in mid-March. You can find them at 8205 W. Main St. in Belleville or call them at 234-1120. ...
