Dogs deserve more protections

My wife and I live next to people who constantly leave their two dogs on a back porch three days without a restroom break. One person will then yell at the dogs for soiling the porch. We have called the police and St. Clair County Animal Control yet the dogs still live in a nightmare. Of course, when animals have no more rights than a lawn mower, what do I expect?

It is ironic that we gave civil rights to people who cause irreparable harm to every neighborhood they occupy while our wonderful animal friends not only give great joy, they do not rape, rob, steal, murder or sponge off society.
