H. Ray Sigler recently responded to a letter by Frankie Seaberry, criticizing her for her views as to how the Republican Party is doing a less than good job. Sigler went on the state that the Republicans are not in control, yet he fails to note the records that they have set in doing what Seaberry pointed to.
First, the Republicans broke all records in using the filibuster to block bills. They also simply refuse to allow matters to even be voted on, claiming that they didn't have a voice in the matter, with no specificity as to what. But voting would have been appropriate. The least productive Congress in recent history at a time when things should be done -- legislating, that is.
Then we have the hearings -- those infamous Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., moments -- not one of which has turned up a single solitary thing. Not enough? Let's throw in Ted Cruz and his totally inept and destructive government shutdown.
Now we have the latest political toy to play with: the release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. The verdict isn't in yet, but then playing things the way they are is far worse than the issue.
Sigler stated: "I will go out on a limb and predict that in 2016 the conservative branch of the Republican Party and the Tea Party will put a big hurt on all three branches of elected government." Really? As in even more so than what we have already seen? OMG.
