Have you ever driven on a street in Cahokia and run into an open construction pit in the roadway filled with crushed stone and not packed in? Ask Commonfields of Cahokia Public Water District.
They have a bad habit of opening holes in the street but letting them remain unrepaired for long periods of time. There is one on Kinder Street and they know it is there, but to date from two years ago it has not been repaired by black top or concrete.
Everyone in Cahokia east of Dead Creek pays for water and sewer service from Commonfields but repairs by Commonfields leave a lot be desired. The open hole on Kinder was to replace a waterline shutoff that handles water to Edwards Street and a fire hydrant.
