Once again, our exalted St. Clair County Board Chairman Mark Kern is nowhere to be found when another scandal erupts.
The current issue is all of the taxpayer dollars spent on civil lawsuits and monetary claims from county employees against their bosses or occurring in county agencies.
I don't hold him personally responsible, but some of these have occurred on his watch and the least he can do is explain to the taxpayers what happened and what he's doing to correct it.
Maybe the BND needs to walk through 4 Public Square waving $100 bills around to get his attention. If it was good enough for James Carville, political advisor to President Bill Clinton, to suggest, then maybe it's not a bad tactic.
