Service from Social Security

With all the bad and demoralizing news about the Internal Revenue Service and Veterans Administration and other government agencies in recent weeks, I just wanted to put in a good word for our Social Security Administration, especially the employees at our SSA in Belleville. We may not always get the answers we want, but we do get answers and usually in a timely fashion.

I recently had occasion to go to SSA in Lake Christine Shopping Center for help with a personal matter that was about to get the best of me. Yes, I had to stand in line, yes, I had to take a number and wait to be called and then wait again for the proper person to help me. Yes, I had to go back to the office more than once. But finally I am headed in the right direction and with much less time, headaches and frustration than I thought for sure I would have to endure.

So to the employees at the Belleville office of the SSA, I say "thank you" from the bottom of my heart. Not only did they go out of their way to assist me, never once did I feel as if I had been talked down to or made to feel like I wasn't quite as smart as the rest of the world. They treated me with the utmost respect and kindness.

It's nice to know that some of our government employees really do have our best interest at heart.
