Pretty nails can cover ugly reality

In response to the recent article about human trafficking, this type of activity is hidden in places you would least expect it. Nail salons are one place that can be a problem area. Although the vast majority of local nail salons are legitimate, clients need to be vigilant. Illinois state law requires nail techs to be licensed; however, if you go into some of the salons, there are no certificates displayed. The working women/girls aren't allowed to talk to customers or leave the premises. They are brought in and out by cars with Missouri plates. If you or someone you know frequents nail salons, have them check the credentials of their nail tech, or they may be contributing to someone's slavery.
