Teach your children well

Tuck your children into bed at night, read them bedtime stories. Do not carry them on your shoulders through riots and demonstrations. Teach them to respect authority, not to fear it.

Demand that your young men pull their pants up. You want decency and respect? Act decent and command respect by not flashing gang symbols in all your pictures.

Encourage education. You won't break the cycle of poverty and violence by hanging out on the street corner. More minority police officers means more young men and women will need to go to school. If they work hard enough and fight for change, it might actually happen.
