Recently, a Sound-Off caller agreed 100 percent with my statement about white racism and oppression, but stated that I ignore the ills existing in the black communities. Not true. I agree with most of the caller’s descriptions of those ills, but with the understanding those ills resulted from the actions of strong forces, who broke up black families by allowing black men to be laid-off their jobs and forcing them to leave their homes in order for their wives and children to survive by means of Welfare.
Contrary to what letter writer Lori Felts believes, I don’t hate Republicans. I am repulsed by the ineptness of the Republican leadership, who hasn’t made one positive innovation in eight years. Most remind me of little boys who pretend to be goody-two shoes, but are actually like Dennis the Menace and Freddie the Demon. Felts should explain why she loves the Republicans, but only if she steps into reality, and cease making false statements, such as Bush didn’t start the Iraq War.
Letter writer H. Ray Sigler thinks a race war is in the making and feels like getting an assault weapon with 50 rounds of ammunition simply because black people have expressed anger about the consistent murders of unarmed black youths. Is that grounds for a race war? I hear such weapons are easy to come by, but since I don’t have terroristic inclinations, I have no need for such weapons. So what is Sigler’s problem?
