I would like to endorse for president the Governor of Ohio, John Kasich. According to family who live in Ohio, the governor is a “doer” more than a talker. In debates he seems sensible, balanced, sincere, even fatherly. In Congress he was the Chairman of the U.S. House Budget Committee. That committee successfully balanced the federal budget during the Reagan administration. President Kasich would make balancing the federal budget a top priority. As governor, Kasich closed a budget shortfall of $8 billion without raising taxes. In fact, he reduced taxes by $5 billion. Kasich also has a strong knowledge of the critical area of national defense, as he sat on the U.S. House Armed Service Committee.
In temperament, John Kasich is also compassionate. I was moved to tears hearing him speak of the great reduction in the recidivism rate among Ohio prisoners and of his happiness that former prisoners have been able to return to purposeful lives. Mr. Kasich is also sincerely pro-life.
I hope that this good man, experienced, effective and sensitive, will receive the consideration for the office of president, as he deserves.
