It was unclear whether writer James Harrigan’s letter requesting Ted Cruz to produce his Report of Child Born Abroad document was fueled by Donald Trump’s comments or from liberal nonsense and hypocrisy. If it did happen to be the latter, here’s a reality check.
A few years back there was a loud calling from Republicans for President Obama to produce his birth certificate proving he was a U.S. citizen. The issue was even further spotlighted when he denied having any relation to a Kenyan relative, who was later proven to indeed be Obama’s family member. Well, we can remember how well that went down. Suddenly, anyone who was concerned in keeping the values of our country, were hateful Republican racists who couldn’t stand the idea of an African-American president. But now all the sudden it is acceptable when the left demands the same thing?
Am I living in an episode of the Twilight Zone, or am I viewing the world that I am about to set off into as one of ridiculous exceptions for special interest groups that have far too much control over important issues? Coming from a high school sophomore’s perspective, I still have the open-mindedness to see that this is ridiculous and quite frankly stupid. Is it reasonable that one group can criticize the other for asking a question, but then in turn ask the very same question of the opposing group’s candidate? It seems pretty hypocritical to me. Wise up everyone.
