Memo to the people of Illinois: Please stop writing sad letters to the newspapers telling your stories to legislators and whining about cuts. There just isn’t enough money, we are sorry you are hurting; cold, ill, hungry and such. You have to understand that your sacrifice is for the greater good.
We have an agenda, one that is far more important than you. One that will make Illinois attractive to families and business, it has to do with bringing companies back into Illinois and teaching lessons to the unions. Profits are suffering and shareholders are anxious. This is a business decision you know, nothing personal.
Yes, yes, we have seen your struggle and yet must turn a blind eye to it; this is about power in Springfield, about what’s best for us and our party. We just need you to understand and align your losses, your suffering, with the hard truth that there just isn’t enough money to help you.
Is this what Illinois leadership actions really mean? Actions speak louder than words.
