I note continuing “Letters” wars over global warming. Each side is convinced of the validity of their point. The pro-global warming side continually uses pejoratives against their foes, questioning their intelligence, morality and/or patriotism. I don’t see many personal attacks from the non-believers. But who really has the complete information needed to conclusively know the answer?
My personal belief is that there is global warming but that it is not caused by man emanating carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. That said, I realize that belief does not make fact. I do believe, however, that the U.S. government is pushing global warming for its own self-interests and that vast economic considerations are in play. A rational debate cannot take place as no amount of evidence against global warming will ever be accepted since the U.S. government has too much at stake on the issue.
The late Robert Novak, a news commentator, once said, “Always love your country, but never trust your government.” I agree.
